Day Twelve

Today is supposed to be five guys whom I find attractive, but in the interests of equality and because I’m heterosexual, I’ll do both. None of this changes my opinion that my other half is incredibly beautiful and better for me than anyone on the list, and I mean that sincerely (not just because she reads these!). In no particular order:

Women:
Katy Perry
Anne Hathaway
Emma Stone
Deborah Ann Woll
Kaley Cuoco

Men:
Nathan Fillion
Jensen Ackles
David Boreanaz
John Barrowman
David Tenant

I find it worrying that I filled in the men list much faster than the women. But these lists don’t really reflect my opinion that everyone has their own attractiveness, and all shapes, sizes and styles have their beauty. I’m trying to discourage superficiality within a superficial post, I’m sure that’s going terribly well.

‘Til next time :)

EDIT: Two I forgot! Rachel MacAdams and Jason Segel. Fantastic people.

Day Elevennnnn

“Your family” is the instruction for today, I’m not entirely sure whether that means I should describe them or say what I think of them or anything else relevant.

I have both parents, an elder sister (and a brother-in-law) and a younger sister… that was simple!

I don’t really know what more to say about them. I don’t spend much time with them but they’re nice to have around. I talk a lot of politics, law and other things with my dad and brother but not much with the others. I’m not particularly fond of my younger sister but I enjoy being at home most of the time.

There’s not much more I can say about my family really so I’ll just leave it at that.

‘Til next time :)

Day Ten!

The first ten songs on my shuffled music player! For me it’s my phone so here goes:

Stereo Hearts - Gym Class Heroes (ft. Adam Levine)
Never Said it - Papa Roach
The Vulture - Pendulum
New Way To Bleed - Evanescence
Self vs Self - Pendulum (ft In Flames)
Haunted - Evanescence
Just Tonight… - Jimmy Eat World
The Webs We Weave - Escape The Fate
This Is Who We Are - As I Lay Dying
The Navy Song - Billy Talent

I’m happy with that! Nothing embarrassing and a slightly wide variety of what I listen to! That’s probably quite representative of what I listen to, except for a loooot of Electro at the moment!

‘Til next time :)

Day Nine

Today I get to talk about how important I think education is! Which works well for me…

I think education is fantastic! it’s incredibly necessary, I would probably gladly be an eternal student if I could (After my masters in psychology I’d love to be able to do another joint honours in Sociology and Politics), and advanced levels of education are just as important as traditional education.

Sometimes I don’t think the content of education is always the best, but in terms of the time available to teach people things I suppose the curriculum isn’t too bad. However I’ve been incredibly priveleged with my education and the opportunities I’ve had, and I’ve been able to study a wide variety of subjects and get myself into a good university.

Regardless of what’s offered, it still takes hard work and skill to be able to get far though, which is why some of the world’s most famous minds have not always needed the guidance of the education system.

So there’s something of a ramble about what I think of education, any questions/comments can of course be directed to my askbox!

‘Til next time :)

Day Eight

So apparently for today I have to post what I ate today… typical for that to occur on a day when I’ve eaten far too much!

Weetabix for breakfast, popcorn, an apple and a sausage roll for lunch, sausages and chips for dinner…

I think that’s the minimalistic way of writing it, though it still sounds like a lot.

That was a fairly uneventful post! I hope tomorrow’s is more interesting and I shall see you then!

On other uneventful news I may not be able to do the psychology module i dearly hoped to do next year because it doesn’t fit in with my Law studies, which would really suck. Waiting to hear back from the department tomorrow. Fingers crossed! If not i’ll try to do it as an extra subject.

‘Til next time :)

Day Seven!

I actually managed to get 6 hours work done today… and I don’t have a deadline tomorrow! It’s practically a miracle. Nevertheless today is day seven so I shall continue with the thirty days of challenge, this time with five pet peeves:

1. People lacking open-mindedness

2. Spelling and grammar mistakes

3. Smoking/smokers (people make their own choices I’m just not a fan of it anywhere near me)

4. Untidiness

5. Lies/liars

I think all of those things are probably as annoying as each other so I can’t put them in a specific order. Not much more I can say about all that!

‘Til next time :)

Day Six

My views on mainstream music for you! I’ll extend it to mainstream culture in general since I feel it applies and it’s a little more to talk about. Something extra for you to read should you feel like it :)

With regards to music, I feel like having “pop” and popular things is important. Music is important for everyone for dancing, singing and just generally feeling good. Everyone has a rhythm and people like different kinds of music, but there’s nothing wrong with certain people trying to find something that many more people can find popular. I prefer to branch out for individuality but I still partake in mainstream culture and music. I like pop and certain types of clothing for example, I just choose to stick with band tshirts, electro and metal because it suits me better.

I am who I am by choice and that’s the way it should be. Mainstream is there to guide people into what they like but I don’t feel like it should be the entirety of someone’s music collection. So much effort and time and talent goes into the creation of almost all music, it should be appreciated and explored by everyone.

Nonetheless, everyone is entitled to their tastes and if mainstream culture is all that makes up their taste there’s nothing wrong with that.

I hope that’s enough of an insight into my favouritism while I try to remain open minded! Feel free to ask away as always or if you fancy a chat.

‘Til next time :)

Days Four and Five

Day Four is to bullet point my day but as you’ll see I didn’t have time yesterday. I’m not really sure how many points to do it so here goes:

- Stayed at my girlfriend’s house, started reading my book about sleep before i slept

- Woke up at 8.37, went up to cuddle and chat with her

- Got up properly around 10, ate etc.

- Ate chicken pie and vegetables for lunch

- Took an unbelievably expensive bus with girlfriend to town, got a gorgeous necklace and some water crystals

- Bus home for around half 6

- Hot dogs for dinner while watching The Voice, then watched some of Britain’s Got Talent and came back to mine with girlfriend

- Took a nice bath then cuddled and fell asleep!

A relatively standard saturday I guess, only a couple of things different to usual. Day Five’s challenge is a bit more personal but I’ll make it fairly more general. It’s things I want to say to an ex.

I really hate what happened. I’m not blameless but you screwed up something potentially wonderful. I’m not going to be the same again. I’m better now. I still sometimes want to do what I almost did then. I don’t know how you dealt with that yearning every day in your heart, I understand what you meant now. You poisoned my mind. I remember far too often.

So now that that’s done I shall be moving back to uni tomorrow but I’ll have plenty of time to post day six’s challenge!

‘Til next time :)

Day Three

A book I love! Well there are many. A book I enjoyed very much recently would be “Johannes Cabal the Necromancer” by Jonathan L. Howard. Witty and sarcastic humour along with an unusual narrative in a steampunk style.

I’m terrible at book reviews because I think I’m quite picky about what I like. I’m into some steampunk-y style stuff at the moment as well as some fantasy books, though my dad has just bought Necromicon and the Eldritch Tales (H.P. Lovecraft books) so it’s imperative that I read them soon!

Unfortunately I don’t have huge amounts of time to read but I spend all my travelling time doing so. Hopefully I’ll have more time in summer.

Not a particularly entertaining one from me but an insight nonetheless. I was planning to queue the next couple of days but it defeats the purpose of the list when tomorrow’s is “Bullet point your whole day”. So I’ll find time for that tomorrow night!

‘Til next time :)

Day Two

Today’s post is something I feel strongly about. For this I think I want to talk about equality. Equality is probably the thing I feel most strongly about, I always try to encourage people to be open minded and be that way myself but I find it especially important with regards to race and sex.

I suppose the post I reblogged a while ago put it quite well. Everyone’s essentially the same and I think there are far more important things than sex/race/gender. Being happy is far more important.

More than that I just want people to try to be a bit nicer to each other. Live and let live I suppose.

So there’s something I feel strongly about. I feel strongly about a lot of other things too, like human rights, education, love, marriage, children etc. but perhaps another time for those things.

‘Til next time :)

Another 30 Day Challenge!

And I intend to stick to this one. More interesting than just music! I hope so anyway. Also it should get me back into using my tumblr a bit more often, been out and about over easter and I soon have exams but I’m sure I can find half an hour each day to browse around.

Without further ado, day one!

Five ways to win my heart:

1. Gaming/nerdiness in general

2. Intelligence

3. Openmindedness? If that’s a word

4. Lots of laughter

5. Smiles

I know at least 3 of those are fairly generic, but they’re important to me. Back tomorrow with more personal things that don’t matter!

‘Til next time :)

Triple Injection!

Another triple injection of songs for your vague interest that nobody is actually interested in! That made no sense but screw it, I’m tired.

Day 19 - A song from your favourite album.

This is a tad difficult in an age where Youtube is so prevalent so people can pick and choose what they listen to, but I could simply pick a Bullet album and say “Fever” by Bullet for my Valentine. Something I’d like to reccommend on the side since I just got the new Nero album is “Gives me the Feeling” by them :)

Day 20 - A song you listen to when you’re angry.

I don’t really get angry, and when I do I prefer to watch comedy so I’m forced to laugh and forget about stuff. But otherwise I’d try to listen to something that makes me wanna sing and is relatively happy, so I wanna go with something random and say “Marry You” by Bruno Mars. Fantastic song, fun to sing too.

Day 21 - A song you listen to when you’re happy.

Anything goes really apart from the few songs that bring me down because I read into them too much. I shall give a song that I’ve been listening to a lot recently which is “Burn it Down” by Awolnation. Fantastic, catchy tune and very lively.

I’ve gotta try to do tomorrow’s properly since I’d like to do 23 and 24 as a pair, and I want to get back to posting things properly. Unfortunately I’m at my most creative the moment I shut down my computer. But I’ll have a go.

Radio Songs

While my internet is being appallingly slow so I can’t watch anything on Youtube, BBC Iplayer or the newest Zero Punctuation Review, I shall do a couple of days of song challenge! Aren’t you just overwhelmed with how committed I am to this?

Day 17 - A song you hear often on the radio.

Well this changes every few weeks as the newest waves of pop are released, but I suppose at the moment I could give “Sunlight” by Modestep. It’s something I actually like!

Day 18 - A song you wish you heard on the radio.

Any of my music I suppose I’d be happy to hear on the radio. I’d quite like to hear “Just Tonight…” by Jimmy Eat World more often. For me it’s a driving song since I always used to skip round to it whilst playing Burnout 3, and Jimmy Eat World have some really good songs.

‘Til next time :)

Much More Catching Up

5 days at once this time, because I’m extremely lazy and I have other things to do sometimes! Ah well, I get round to it, I’m trying to persevere with this all the way to the end but day-by-day isn’t going so well.

Day 12 - A song from a band you hate.

Not the easiest, as usual if I dislike something I don’t really listen to it much. Though I suppose I could give “The Last Sunrise” by Aiden, as I don’t like the band but I like that song. Fall Out Boy fall into that category as well I think, as I like a few of their songs.

Day 13 - A guilty pleasure.

Probably quite a few of these lurking in my library at various points, the one that springs to mind is the album of Lindsay Lohan’s haha, also probably a couple of the popular Kelly Clarkson songs. As could Katy Perry and/or La Roux. Moving on…

Day 14 - A song no one would expect me to love.

I’m guessing my guilty pleasures wouldn’t be guessed easily even by those who know me… I’m not really sure about this though, most know my taste to be quite varied so something new might not actually surprise people. perhaps “The Waves” by Einaudi since it’s a classical piece, or “Little Lion Man” by Mumford & Sons because it’s quite calm and unlike most of the things I listen to.

Day 15 - A song that describes you.

From whose opinion? Not sure I could really give an opinion of myself like that, there’s nothing that really fits in with the way I think about things and believe, I think my mind is a bit too crazy and/or messed up to be summed up in a single song… Nope I really can’t, failed this one I’m afraid. Should anyone come up with something for me I’ll leave a note in the next post.

Day 16 - A song I used to love but now hate.

As I’ve stated many times, I don’t particularly “hate” songs. There are a few songs that I don’t like very much though anymore, perhaps it’s just to do with my mood or the content of the song i’m not sure. I feel like giving “Dirty Little Secret” by The All-American Rejects as an example, I just really don’t like the message anymore.

So that’s me caught up, I’ll do my best to keep properly scheduled or at least write proper things at other times…

‘Til next time :)

Caught Up, Three in One!

Well I’ve been busy, nobody’s really bothered anyway and it’s probably easier to do it this way so I’m gonna do three days in one post this time. It’ll also make it a bit more substantial if anyone wants more than 2 minutes quick reading :p

Day Nine - A song you can dance to.

We can dance if we want to… ahem. Actually quite a few songs make me want to dance, things like “Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 makes me feel like that at the moment, but nothing I would actually dance to. Perhaps if I could dance properly. I think it’d be quite nice to do some kind of ballroom thing to “My Immoirtal” by Evanescence. Not ever going to happen but it’s a nice thought.

Day Ten - A song that makes you fall asleep.

I put myself to sleep by letting my inner radio play whatever I fancy, so most songs are capable of it if i can think about the parts of it enough. But no song actually makes me feel sleepy in the day, songs usually keep me awake. Perhaps any classical music, though some songs I’ve played on Guitar Hero make me feel sleepy, though that’s mainly because they’re repetitive. So I have no specific answer for this one :(

Day Eleven - A song from your favourite Band

Ooh but I could reccommend so many! Most wouldn’t like them but I could still give my opinion that they’re good. Instead of going with one I’ve previously mentioned, from their newest album “Pretty on the Outside” by Bullet For My Valentine. No particular reason just a song I like a lot from that album.

I hope this was more interesting than usual, I’ll try to stick to a proper schedule but doing it like this was quite fun. Also proper blogging to resume I promise ;P

‘Til next time :)
